Jake Livgren

Jake Livgren began working as a studio singer for Kerry Livgren (Kansas) at the age of 16 and later performed vocals on several of Kerry’s albums including his band Proto-Kaw. He states his proudest moment musically was “appearing on (and singing all the original tracks for) the 2000 Kansas album Somewhere to Elsewhere.” Like most prog artists, Jake is multi-instrumental and although mainly a vocalist, he plays guitar, keyboards, bass, drums, saxophone, and percussion. He is lead vocalist for Emerald City Council, whose current release is titled Motion Carries and is currently on its second-run of CDs and all of the vinyl copies have sold out!
Says Melodic Revolution Records president Nick Katona, “Jake first came to my attention in the early 2000s via the album Before Became After by Proto-Kaw. “ Emerald City Council is now signed to Melodic Revolution Records. He is working on several tracks for Legacy Pilots and an album with Bill Evans. Jake is not stopping for a long time.
